Living Yolates - interview with Laura
Laura, who is currently taking a course to become a Living Yolates instructor, will share her thoughts in this interview on why she chose a training method like Living Yolates and to to understand why this form of exercise is beneficial for her.
Why did you choose to take the Living Yolates course specifically?
‘I immediately think of the intentions I wrote at the beginning of my course. First and foremost, I chose this education in Living Yolates because it is the first time I have experienced a training method that speaks to the emotions within the exercises, rather than focusing solely on the physical appearance one achieves from it. I was tired of my thoughts about training being centered on looking a certain way—having a flatter stomach, a more toned butt. I was beating myself up and filled with guilt.
I am a master at comparing myself to others, overthinking, and worrying. It likely stems from often not feeling good enough, having a need to please others, and choosing others’ needs over my own.’
‘I want to create a healthier relationship with diet, health, and exercise—moving my body for reasons other than just ‘looking good.’ Instead, you can train your glutes to feel stronger in yourself, work on your core to deepen your connection to your intuition and train your arms to strengthen your passion.
Living Yolates is much more than just a training method. For me, it is equally a lifestyle and a philosophy. Its message is to awaken life energy and create a strong body from the inside out, following the natural cycle of the seasons.I really want to be able to help others, but I can’t do that until I have healed myself. I need to shine from within to shine on others. I have gained much more from this course than I ever dared to expect, and I have developed a much better understanding of what health truly is—there isn’t one path that fits all.’
Would you recommend Living Yolates to others - and why?
‘Unfortunately, I don’t think I’m the only young woman today who feels weighed down by stress, overthinking, societal expectations, and worries. Living Yolates isn’t about looking a certain way; the most important thing is just feeling good in your body.
I would recommend Living Yolates to all the women who feel the way I described, as well as to everyone else. There’s a need for people to act more from the heart, to stand stronger within themselves, and to rediscover their power—and this training method helps with that. It incorporates meditation, yoga, pilates, dance, chinese medicine, and reflexology. It’s about getting out of your head and into your body, feeling strong, and meeting your body with acceptance, care, and love.Overall, I think it’s beautiful what it can do. If you ensure that you move your energy, awaken your life force, eat healthily, and get enough sleep, your body will heal itself. Living Yolates is a fantastic place to start because it teaches you how the body’s rhythm is connected to nature.’
